Welcome to Hand in Hand Ministries... Many girls and children in Thailand today are living an unimaginable reality – they have been sold into prostitution to pay off family debts. They are being used and abused day in and day out to pay off debts owed by their families. Girls and children are sold into prostitution to provide the money needed to support their families.
This is not a lifestyle choice. These girls ultimately pay the huge price of abuse, isolation and rejection. Some get hooked on drugs to deal with the pain and many have taken their own lives. During his numerous travels in countries throughout the world Hand in Hand Founder Paul Darbinson has come face to face with many people who have lost all hope. Those he has met have so often lost even the very will to live and escape into drug addiction and alcoholism. Paul has seen into the eyes of those who are hopeless and longing for some way out.
Hand in Hand Ministries is all about helping these girls, rescuing children and trying to reunite them with their families or find safe houses for them to live. Hand in Hand also helps girls out of prostitution, into education or to find alternative jobs. The Ministry also supports financially until suitable employment can be found.
So many children in Thailand are in such poverty, they have no education and no parents to provide food and protection. In some cases Hand in Hand Ministries ‘buy children back’ to ensure a better future and relocate them to a safer place and loving environment.
Hand in Hand Ministries works at the very core of this very difficult area. There are so many to help, our Ministry helps girls escape to safe houses maintaining support whilst working to avoid problems with the owners of the girls and children. Is it all worth it? Our Ministry sees lives completely changed - misery exchanged for joy - real joy. Families can be supported without girls and children having to be abused. The answer is yes - an emphatic yes. Nothing could be more worthwhile.

Together hand in hand, we can work together to change lives for the better, to give real hope and freedom. One at a time maybe, but lives will be made better and hope rekindled. Children will be free from harm and live as children should. Girls will find joy, hope and happiness once again. Those who have escaped into alcohol and drugs will be able to face life again and have a purpose and a way forward. Those who need food can be fed, those who need accommodation can be housed.
